First time trying Nicaraguan food. The steak with rice and beans was decent, but the plantains were delicious. The mixed pupusa was also delicious.

So, I have seen this place for quite some time to and from work. I finally decided to look it up and it piqued my interest. Told the husband to get up, we are going. Very inconspicuous place on the outside and felt like I was back in South America in the inside from the music to the decor, to how you order. Great, authentic process and the food was AMAZING and flavorful. The place was tidy and the staff helpful and attentive. The meats are excellent flavor and perfectly grilled. The fried cheese is a must try. The sweet plantains help wrap up a great meal and get you some mixed papusas for later. You will not regret coming here. The pricing was decent and I love that it was a very unsuspecting place.

This Gas Station restaurant was referred to me in March while I was in Jury Duty. Stopped in today and it is amazing. Good people, great food, good pricing! Must try for ambitious people!!!! I own restaurants and it's worth a try! My wife was skeptical. She is making me go back for dinner!

Tucked right next to the Mega Saver on 168th and Harrison is a charming little mom-and-pop spot that’s an absolute hidden gem. The owners are incredibly friendly, welcoming you with warm smiles and happily answering any questions you have. Their passion and attentiveness truly set the tone for the whole experience. If you think Latin food in Omaha starts and ends with Mexican cuisine, this place will open your eyes. Nicaraguan food is one of the most underrated cuisines out there—and this place does it right. Every dish is packed with flavor, especially the meats, which are tenderized with citrus (you can actually taste the orange!). It’s a level of care and attention you rarely find these days. One standout is the Gallo Pinto—a traditional blend of black beans and rice, cooked in a banana leaf with a hint of coconut. It’s served with a tangy pickled cabbage that mixes beautifully into the rice for a balanced, savory bite. I ordered the grilled pork, which was bursting with flavor. You can choose between sweet plantains or plantain chips; I went with the chips, and they were perfectly crispy and crunchy. The fried cheese on the side? Always a win. For $17–$20 a plate, you’re getting something truly special—homemade food made fresh every day with real ingredients and real love. Compare that to a $13 fast food combo, and it’s a no-brainer. This place isn’t just a meal—it’s a celebration of culture and craftsmanship. Support local. Try something new. You won’t regret it.

The Pork and Chicken were Amazing the rice/beans complimented the protein nicely... Both styles of plantains were great, the crispy plantains were nice to snack on while we waited for our food and the soft sweet plantains tasted good with the meal...

My husband and I tried this place for the first time tonight. The young woman working the counter was wonderful! Friendly and provided helpful recommendations. My husband had the steak, and I had the chicken. The meats were seasoned soooo well, phenomenal flavor! Juicy and hot! I had never had a pupusa before, so I was hesitant to order one in the beginning, but mid-meal I told my husband “we’ve got to order one just to try it!” So we ordered a Mixed and it was sooo good! I will definitely get one every time we go!

The place is clean and nicely put together. The food was ok, I expected more quantity on the plate, but, only one piece of carne asada. Carne asad should be served as a long piece maybe even two but here, we got only one. The gallo pinto was not at it’s best. Plantains were fried well, and repollo came with its own onions chopped which was nice. Had to ask for their picante, and it was worth it it’s green and tastes like chimichurri, took that baby home. Fried cheese should be cut think for the frying process, but here we got a thin slice.., so not a fan of what they provide here for the buck! Sodas are from the fountain so be prepared to have a Clorox drink with your food. Overall it’s ok but prolly won’t be back as there is nothing wonderful that will bring me back here..

I drive by this place a lot and heard it was good. My friend suggested it for lunch and I am so glad he did. I was blown away how good it was. The steak, slaw, and fried cheese were all delicious, but the rice and beans were the star of the show. The owner was super nice and walked us through their small menu. I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of their menu.
